LORD KRISHNA
Lord Krishna as Goloka Sri Krishna is the ultimate God Head. The Goloka Sri Krishna is the origin of all the celestial beings and the universe and is only path for salvation.
Lord Krishna is the source of all the ultimate energy. He says all the good and bad originate from Him, but He does not control them. He leaves it to the living beings to make the choice through their wisdom. But, He also says, if you don’t want the Karma to attach to you, do all actions as a service to Him.
In Dwapara Yuga, the Avathar of Sri Krishna, is considered to be the Purna Avathar, the manifestation in its totality. In the earlier Avathars, the Lord has assumed different forms, but only in Krishna Avathar, he shows many colors of life, like, a naughty toddler, naughty young boy, a young adolescent who is attracted by all the people around, a young man who is attracted by all the Gopis, as a musician playing the flute, as a dancer, as a jovial friend, as a protector of his clan (Kalandi mardhan, Goverdhan girisham etc), as a destined destroyer of evil (Kamsa and Sishupala), as an instant protector of His devotees when they ultimately surrender to Him (giving the dress to Draupathi, giving the Akshya Paatra to Draupathi, eating one grain of rice and satisfying the hunger of Durvasa etc), a total friend who sticks through the thick and thin (for the Pandavas, especially Arjuna), as an ambassador seeking peace for the Pandavas, as an elder brother giving in marriage of Subdhara to Arjuna, as a dutiful son bringing back His mother, father and grand father out of imprisonment done by his cruel uncle Kamsa, dutifully marrying a minimum of two wives Rukmani and Satyabama, as per the Dharma, making a permanent solution for the sufferings of the Pandavas by making the Kuruksetra War a reality, starting the war by initiating Srimad Bagawat Gita to the grief stricken disheartened Arjun and making him to fight the War, protecting the Pandavas by all means by many tricks right from joining the Pandavas by acting asleep on the arrival of Duryodhan, till the death of Duryodhan by showing Bhim to strike Duryodhan on his thighs which are his weak points, by protecting Bhim from the famous Drithrashtra Alingan (the embracing by Drithrasht) etc.
There is no role that is not played by Lord Krishna for his clan, for his friends, for his devotees and for his enemies. Hence He is called a Purna Avathar.
The Lord takes birth as Sri Krishna to teach the world how to face the Kali Yuga, which is full of adversities. Right from the time He was born, He had faced adversities and fought it till He finally leaves for Vaikunt. Probably He was the first Teacher for Crisis Management setting the best example for everything by Himself.
His planning was most meticulous. For everything He gives a great importance for the planning. The coveted smile on His face, whenever He does something, explain this Master Psychologist’s planning. He knows where to use and not to use, how to use anyone and any situation. Making Kunti Devi ask boons from Karan to protect Arjun, ringing in Shikandi infront of Arjun, killing of the elephant Ashwatama, making all the people to play the drums when Yudshtir says it was the elephant, using the Sudarshan to create artificial sunset, Hare Krishna !!
There are many rituals and calculations done in Sanatan Dharm, which is based on Lord Vishnu. A few are narrated below:
When we do all the pujas, havens etc, at the end of it, we say “Sarvam Sri Krishnaarpanamashu”, meaning, we offer whatever we did to Lord Krishna.
The days of the year in the Celestial calander is calculated based on the Vishnu Day and Vishnu Night. The details of the time upto the time we are doing the Puja is said by mentioning the name of Lord Vishnu as Lakshmi Pati.
In Srimad Bagawat Gita, Lord Krishna, who is the avatar of Goloka Sri Krishna, says that every thing in the universe manifests in Him. It means that He is the macro body on which we all dwell. His mercy is indefinable.
Jagad Guru Sri Adi Sankaracharya, who Himself is the manifestation of Lord Shiva, in His Baja Govindam says “when the time you have to leave the world arrives, nothing can go with you. Chant the name of Govinda, so you get salvation wherever you go”.
On this occasion of the birthday – Janmashtami of Lord Krishna (2nd Sept, 2010), let us all pray to the Lord, to show each one of us our destined duty, to make us able to perform our destined duty and give us the deep seated knowledge of Him and unconditional and untainted devotion to Him, so that wherever we go, whatever we do, however we live, we can feel His presence with us, guiding us always, and finally make us live a dignified life to upkeep the Lords Teachings.
HARE KRISHNA !! HARI OM !!
