Veda Gyan - 1

Pranams to our Gurujis - The Spritual Masters

Om Sri Gurubyo Namaha !!

We are starting our edition with our Pranams to our Gurujis, who have made our intellect to grow and become sharper and sharper than a the tip of a nail so that it can precisely point always towards the Spiritual development of our mind and the soul, with the body working as the instrument to the attainment of the goal.

Whenever, we chant a Manthra, we start with the prayers "Om Sri Gurubyo Namaha".  Even the Vedic scriptures specify that we should offer our prayers first to our Gurujis who have taught us the lessons with which we enlightened our mind. This rule is applicable not only to the learners of Vedas, but to all of us in all spheres of life.

Everyone who is an author, writer, worker, musician or anything, he has a teacher.  One should pay respect to such person in words and kind, if he / she is living.  If they have already passed through this world, they should be remembered and their blessings should be sought.

The Sanathana Dharma (the Hinduism) tradition says that we should pray for the good life of our teacher and his family.  We should do all that we can, without hesitation, to help and assist our teachers.  We should speak to them and find out what we can do for them, as much as possible.  Paying respects in words and deeds is a part of our duty, which should be done as often as possible.  If it could not be done frequently, two days are set for this -  1.  Vyas Purnima and 2.  Saraswathi Puja day (the day after the Maha Navami day during the Navarathri Festival.

I hereby take this opportunity to thank and pay my respects to all the Gurujis who have played any and every role in making my mind grow spiritually and to find the path that can lead me to Salvation.  Though most of my Gurujis have passed through this world, I still remember them everyday and follow the same pattern they have chosen to enlighten my mind spiritually.

As my promise to my Gurujis, I would pass on my knowledge through whatever means possible, to any seeker who come to me.

  1. Dear Guruji,

I have accomplished all that is needed for a normal man, including the retirement. As I read through your article, I find I have missed out paying my respects to my Gurujis in all spheres of life. Many of them have passed away.

My children could not yet settle in their life. All are married, but their in their lives, they have many sufferings. Is it all due to the displeasure of my and my children's Gurujis.

I know it was a gross mistake to forget our teachers or Gurujis. But owing to the Maya of life, we forgot all of them one by one. Please guide me as to how me and my children can pay them respects.

    Your devoted disciple
