SURYA GAYATRI MANTRA
There are Gayatri Mantras for all Gods. There are many Gayatri Mantras for every Gods too. Gayatri Mantra generally says the description of the God in a particular form and the devotees offering of his prayer to such God.
Surya Gayatri offered to Sun God is considered as the most important Mantra in the world. It is considered as the Supreme Mantra. This Mantra was written by Sage Viswamitra. The Mantra invokes the Sun God through the deity Gayatri Devi, Who is having the full grace of Sakti.
Surya Gayatri Mantra should be chanted only by Brahmins who are supposed to chant it. It should be chanted at least 3 times daily. It is a ritual for the Brahmins to chant Surya Gayatri Mantra.
Surya Gayatri Mantra should be chanted only in the mind. It is a Mantra for meditation. The chanter should meditate upon Gayatri Devi and invoke her presence in his mind. It should be chanted with proper devotion. It should not be chanted loud.
Surya Gayatri should not be chanted by ladies. Nor it should be sung as a song. It is the highest Mantra with full of power. It should be chanted with proper utterance of the words and notation should be fully followed.
Surya Gayatri Mantra is composed of five sentences. It should be chanted as five sentences. It should not be mixed up or broken into more.
It is said “Pancha Avasane Gayatri, Pancha Papa Vinasini”. Gayatri Mantra chanted as five sentences removes the five horrible sins, viz., Kama, Kroda, Moha, Loba and Mada Maatsarya.
The Upadesa of Surya Gayatri Mantra (learning Surya Gayatri Mantra) is given by a father to his son. It is the supreme teaching a father can give to his son. It is handed over to generations thus.
