Significance of "OM"
The word “OM” is always chanted as a prefix to any manthra chanting. The word OM is the first word uttered by Lord Vishnu when He started His creations on the beginning of the Vishnu Day.
The word OM signifies the Trimurthis, viz, Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. The word OM is comprised of the three words Aa, Uu and Ma (M). The first letter “Aa” denotes Lord Vishnu, the letter “Uu” denotes Lord Shiva and the letter “M / Ma” denotes Lord Brahma. Therefore, whenever the world OM is uttered by anyone, it automatically reflects the respects paid to all the Trimurithis in one stroke.
There are people who fight in the name of Shivaism or Vaishnavism, calling themselves a Vaishnavite or a Shivite, and all the time saying the other God is a fake or non-existent entity or an inferior one. While, they chant the manthras of their deity, Lord Vishnu or Lord Shiva, like “Om Namah Shivaya” or “Om Namo Bagavathe Vasudevaya” etc. little they realize, they are automatically paying respects to all the Trimurithis, including their foe God, in the same manner they are paying respects to their God !!
The word OM is full of vital energy. It revives the nervous system and the brain. That is why the word OM is used for meditating from ages gone by and even today.
The word OM is pronounced as AUM when it is pronounced in Sanskrit. It is just commonly written as OM in English. Even if a man is not able to chant any manthra due to any reason, if he chants the word OM repeatedly, he would get the blessings of all the Trimurthis, which would be equal to him doing the Tri Sandya Pujas.
This message is wonderful. Infact I was searching for the relative meaning that signify the word OM. I could understand the significance and the meaning.
